Call to Worship (from Psalm 103)

Leader: Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.

People: Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

Leader: Who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,

People: Who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion.

Leader: Who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s,

People: Let us worship God!

Morning Prayer

God of glory, fill your church with the power that flows from Christ’s resurrection, that, in the midst of the sinful world, it may signal the beginning of a renewed humanity, risen to new life with Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.  Amen.

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Rock of Ages

Rock of Ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in thee;
Let the water and the blood, from thy wounded side which flowed,

Be of sin the double cure, save from wrath and make me pure.

Not the labors of my hands can fulfill thy law’s demands;
Could my zeal no respite know, Could my tears forever flow,
All for sin could not atone; Thou must save, and thou alone.

While I draw this fleeting breath, when mine eyes shall close in death,
When I rise to worlds unknown and behold thee on thy throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in thee.

Give Thanks

Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son

                         (Repeat 1x)

And now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us"

                         (Repeat 1x)

The Real God, Lesson 1: Seeking God

Many people see God as a cosmic vending machine that will give us whatever we want. Truth is, God loves us too much to give us what we want; He gives us what we need. (Preteens & Youth)
