Greenwich is blessed with dedicated volunteers as Campus Stewards, whose donations of time, skill, and energy help to offset some of our maintenance costs. Kalay Oxygen Relief Project

Myanmar (Burma) is in the midst of monumental challenges with an escalating civil war, the COVID-19 crisis, and resulting economic collapse. After the military coup in February 2021, the government has effectively shut down, including most public hospitals. People are desperately trying to find oxygen to care for their family and friends suffering and dying from COVID at home. Local organizations in Myanmar (Burma) are trying to build oxygen production facilities to help with the demand and prepare for ongoing COVID care for the next few years. Partnering with other individuals, organizations, and churches, Farthest Corners hopes to help raise the support needed for an oxygen plant and other aid to the people of Kalay.

Hurricane Ida Relief

In the immediate aftermath of natural disasters like hurricanes and flooding, we support Christian ministries that are working with local churches and coordinating with government agencies to offer strategic support to victims. If you would like to offer financial support, two trusted organizations already on the ground in Louisiana are Samaritan's Purse and Eight Days of Hope. Our mission committee will also consider a potential short-term mission project to join with relief efforts in the coming months.

Shelter Meals

We regulary prepare and serve homemade meals at our local shelter. If you would like to help with preparation and delivery, follow the link below or contact Karen & James, kjbrbin@gmail.com

Next Meal: TBD

Prayer Team

The starting point for our mission efforts is acknowledging that God is in control. Every member of our church is called to turn our hearts and our minds toward the Lord in prayer. Check out our Prayer Page for prayer resources and information about our daily Zoom Prayer Team and Prayer Warrior Email List.

Blessing Bags

We prepare hundreds of gift bags each year for homeless men and women, victims of domestic abuse, and others in need.  Blessing bags are prepared by small groups from Greenwich and delivered by the Good News Community Kitchen.  The bags contain hygiene products, food gift cards, along with seasonal needs such as socks, hats, gloves and hand/toe warmers.  Each bag always holds a Gospel of John. Through this ministry we seek to be the hands of Jesus, putting His love into action. If you are interested in participating with us, see Diana, dianakv@verizon.net.

Community Service Quilting

Come and join us while we use our talents to bring warmth to others! The quilting group is for anyone interested in learning the art of quilting. Bring your project to work on and participate in creating community service quilts for babies, nursing homes, soldiers, Youth for Tomorrow, and other organizations. There are also special presentations, community quilting projects, and field trips to quilt stores.  Contact Lisa to learn more, bikelshouse@gmail.com.
