REFUGEE MINISTRY

Our ministry offers support and friendship for refugee families from Afghanistan as they resettle in Prince William County. As these new immigrants search for and settle into new homes, we provide genuine welcome and hospitality, donations of furniture and other basic needs, and assistance with transportation and navigating American culture. The relationships formed are rewarding for both new immigrants and volunteers and have developed into true friendships. For more information check out our Refugee Ministry Overview or contact us:  refugees@greenwichpres.org

How Can You Help?

Financial Support

The first quarter of 2022 is a critical time as many new immigrants are settling in our area. Please consider a financial gift to support our Refugee Ministry.

Furnishings (updated 6.20.22)

Our storage is currently FULL. Please hold onto potential donations and contact Jeanne, majiedw1@comcast.net to learn more about next steps. And please don't deliver furniture to the church!

Employment Opportunities for Immigrants

If you know of a potential entry level employment opportunity, we can help! Refugees are hard-working, motivated, and have significant experience in a variety of fields. Please contact Mike, jktraveller@yahoo.com

Vehicles Needed

Donating reliable used vehicles or financial contributions helps our families become self-sufficient as they resettle in our area. Please contact Mark, marksturges@comcast.net, to learn more about how to donate a vehicle.

Housing Needed

We are searching for rental homes for refugee families at reasonable rates. These immigrants have employment and are great tenants. If you know of a potential housing option, please contact Eric, ebeckman@greenwichpres.org.
